EUREKA RAIL YARD

There are a number of GP-9E and one GP-7 locomotives that are marooned in the rail yard in Eureka, CA caused by the closure of the railroad from Willits, CA to Eureka due to washouts in the Eel River Canyon.   These belong to the Northwestern Pacific who took over ownership from the North Coast Rail Authority in 1996.  For more information on this route click HERE.
